Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly

REMOVAL

NOTE: Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.

1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the lug wrench.







3. Disconnect the manifold and tube fitting at the suction accumulator/drier.







4. Remove the tube clamp.







5. Remove the pin-type retainers and the sight shield.







6. Disconnect the A/C condenser core inlet line.
7. Raise the vehicle.







8. Disconnect the pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.

4x4 vehicles







9. Loosen the A/C manifold and tube bolt and remove the manifold and tube assembly.

4x2 vehicles
10. Lower the vehicle.







11. Loosen the A/C manifold and tube bolt and remove the manifold and tube assembly.







12. Remove the pressure cutoff switch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean PAG oil.
^ Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

2. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
