Back Window Glass: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the rear seat, if so equipped.
NOTE: Removal of the back window glass requires an assistant to hold the back glass window as it is pushed out.
2. On SuperCab models, remove (pull off) the rear seat upper pad.
3. Remove the rear safety belt D-rings, if so equipped, from the rear of the cab.
4. Remove the scuff plates.
5. Partially remove the weatherstrip from the rear of the door jamb.
6. Remove the C-pillar trim panels, if so equipped.
7. From inside the vehicle, pull down on the back window glass weatherstrip and push back the window glass and back window glass weatherstrip from the back window glass opening.
8. Remove the weatherstrip from the rear window.
9. Remove all traces of butyl from the window glass opening and the back window weatherstrip.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the weatherstrip to the rear window.
NOTE: Installation of the back glass window requires an assistant to push the back glass window as it is being installed.
2. Install the window installation rope to the window weatherstrip.
3. Lubricate the window weatherstrip with soapy water.
4. Position the rear window to the rear window opening.
5. Using the assistance of another technician, install the rear window.
^ Pull the installation rope from the window weatherstrip.
^ Slightly push inward and downward on the rear window glass (technician two).
