EXTERIOR MIRROR GLASS - TRAILER TOWHeat Gun:

REMOVAL
NOTE: LH trailer tow mirror shown.
1. Position the exterior mirror glass in the full up and out position.
2. Use an appropriate slotted tool to disconnect the two yellow jackscrews from the back of the exterior mirror glass.
3. Position the exterior mirror glass in the full down position.
4. Grasp the top and carefully pull the exterior mirror glass away from the mirror housing.
INSTALLATION
1. Rotate the jackscrew heads to make the head point toward the central pivot ball in the exterior mirror housing and align with the exterior mirror glass back.
2. Place the new exterior mirror glass assembly down on a smooth firm surface.
3. CAUTION: Do not overheat the exterior mirror glass backing plate. Heat only until backing plate is warm to the touch.
Using the special tool, warm the main pivot socket and the two jackscrew sockets in the exterior mirror glass backing plate.
4. Position the friction pins into the holes in the exterior mirror housing.
5. Use hand pressure on the center of the exterior mirror glass to engage the main pivot ball into the socket.
6. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full down position and use hand pressure to engage the bottom jackscrew.
7. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full out position and use hand pressure to engage the side jackscrew.
8. If the jack pins do not engage, they may not be aligned correctly. Remove the exterior mirror glass, align the jack pins to the slots in the sockets and repeat the installation procedure.
