PINPOINT TEST I: LFC 32/DTC B1932 - DRIVER AIR BAG HIGH RESISTANCE/OPEN CIRCUIT

Test I1-I3:

Test I4:

Test I5-I7:

Normal Operation

WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT A DIRECT RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT OF THE AIR BAG MODULE. A DIRECT RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT OF THE AIR BAG MODULE CAN CAUSE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, WHICH CAN RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY. FOLLOW THE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE TO DETERMINE IF THE AIR BAG MODULE RESISTANCE IS HIGHER THAN NORMAL.

The air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) monitors the resistance of the driver air bag ignitor by measuring the resistance between Pins C2209-1 and C2209-15. If the ECS detects high resistance, the ECS will store DTC B1932 in memory and flash LFC 32 (or higher priority code if one exists) on the air bag indicator.

Possible Causes
^ A poor connection or corrosion in the driver air bag module circuits, clockspring or connections.
^ An open circuit or high resistance in the clockspring windings inside the clockspring.
^ An open circuit or high resistance in the wiring harness.
^ An open circuit or high resistance in the driver air bag module.
