Reactivation

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, and notes at the beginning of the deactivation procedure.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.
Vehicles equipped with a passenger air bag module
1. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
2. Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
3. Position the RH lower instrument panel finish panel reinforcement mounting bracket. Install the bolts.
4. Position the RH lower instrument panel finish panel reinforcement. Install the bolts.
5. Align the retaining clips and install the RH lower instrument panel finish panel.
All vehicles
1. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the clockspring electrical connector.
2. Connect the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.
3. Install the steering column opening lower finish panel reinforcement.
1 Position the steering column opening lower finish panel reinforcement.
2 Install the bolts.
3 Install the electrical connector pin-type retainers.
4 Position the data link connector. Install the screws.
Special Tool(s):
4. Align the steering column opening lower finish panel and push in to seat the retaining clips.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
6. WARNING: The restraint system diagnostic tool is for restraint system service only. Remove from vehicle prior to road use. Failure to remove could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards.
With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
7. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
