Seats: Description and Operation

Front Seats
The front seats can be equipped with the following systems:
- Manual seat tracks
- Power seat tracks
- Power lumbar
- Heated seats
- Passenger tip/slide seat (Sport only)
- Cloth or leather seats
- 2-way adjustable head restraints
- 4-way adjustable head restraints
- Infinitely adjustable recline
- Map pocket on the back of the seat

Explorer Sport Trac
The base seating package offers cloth low back seats. Both first row seats have a manual adjustment forward/backward.

The cloth comfort group seating package offers cloth low back seats. The driver side has a six-way power seat adjustment. The passenger seat has a manual adjustment forward/backward. Both seats have a power lumbar and a map pocket on the back of the seat.

The leather comfort group seating package offers leather low back seats. Both front row seats have a driver and passenger power seat adjustment, heated seats, power lumbar support and a map pocket on the back of the seat.

Explorer Sport
The base seating package offers cloth low back seats. Both first row seats have manual adjustment forward/backward and the passenger tip-slide feature offers a rear release for the second row passenger.

The cloth comfort group seating package offers cloth low back seats. The driver seat has six-way power seat adjustment. The passenger seat has a manual adjustment forward/backward and the tip-slide feature offers a rear release for the second row passenger. Both seats have a map pocket on the back of the seat.

The leather comfort group seating package offers leather low back seats. Both front row seats have a driver power seat adjustment. The passenger seat has manual adjustment forward/backward and the tip/slide feature offers a rear release for the second row passenger. Both seats have heated seats, power lumbar support and a map pocket on the back of the seat.

Heated Seats
This system allows the electrical heating of the front seats on passenger demand.

The components of the system are:
- the seat heating elements located in the seat cushion and backrest.
- the heated seat module located on the seat cushion frame.
- the heated seat control switch, located on the seat side trim panel.
- temperature sensors located in the seat cushion heating elements.

Rear Seats

Second Row Seating
The following second row seating configurations and features are available for the Explorer Sport Trac:
- 60/40 rear seat (cloth or leather)
- 60/40 rear seat that folds down for more interior cargo space
- a carpeted panel to complete load floor
- 2-way adjustable head restraints
- 3 point restraint

The following second row seating configurations and features are available for the Explorer Sport:
- 50/50 rear seat (cloth or leather)
- 50/50 rear seat that folds flat for more interior cargo space
- 2-way adjustable head restraints
