With Scan Tool

Retrieving DTCs

NOTE: Always retrieve PCM DTCs before AFCM DTCs.

1. Key off.
2. Connect the diagnostic tool with the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Data Link Connector (DLC) cable securely into the vehicle OBD DLC.
3. Connect the diagnostic tool power supply cable to the vehicle.

NOTE: KOER and KOEO tests cannot be performed in ALT fuel mode.

4. Key ON or start the vehicle if necessary. The diagnostic tool is ready to communicate with the vehicle Alternative Fuel Control Module (AFCM).
5. Access the AFCM.
- This module supports some DTCs and PIDs which appear similar to the PCM but may have an entirely different meaning.
6. Retrieve the continuous DTCs.
7. To disconnect the tool, turn key OFF and disconnect the diagnostic tool from the OBD DLC and power supply.
