Torque Specifications














Torque Specifications

Cylinder Head





Tighten the bolts in 3 stages, RH shown, LH similar.
Stage 1 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
Stage 3 Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
Always use new Bolts


Intake Manifold





Tighten the intake manifold bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)


Camshaft Bearing Caps





Tighten the bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)


Main Bearing Cap
Tighten the vertical main bearing cap fasteners in 2 stages:






Stage 1 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 Tighten an additional 90 degrees

Tighten the jack screws against the cylinder block in the sequence shown:






^ Tighten to 5 Nm (44 in lbs)
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 in lbs)

Install the side bolts and tighten in the sequence shown:






^ Tighten to 21 Nm (15 ft lbs)

Connecting Rod Bearing Cap






Tighten the bolts in 2 stages using the sequence shown:
Stage 1 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 Tighten an additional 105 degrees


Crankshaft Pulley

Using the special tool to hold the crankshaft pulley, tighten the bolt in 4 stages:
Stage 1 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2 Loosen the bolt one full turn.
Stage 3 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
Stage 4 Tighten the bolt an additional 90 degrees without exceeding 200 Nm (148 ft. lbs.)


Flexplate





Tighten the bolts in 2 stages:
Stage 1 20 Nm (15 inch lbs.)
Stage 2 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)


Oil Pump





Tighten the bolts 10 Nm (89 ft. lbs.)


Exhaust Manifold - LH





Tighten the nuts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)


Exhaust Manifold - RH





Tighten the nuts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)


Coolant pump bolts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
