Front Seat - With Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR)
FRONT SEAT - WITH SEAT INTEGRATED RESTRAINTS (SIR)Removal
NOTE:
- New retaining bolts must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. The retaining stud and nut can be reused.
- Driver side shown, passenger side similar.
1. Disconnect the usage detection switch and power seat electrical connectors located under the seat.
2. NOTE: Passenger front inboard retainer cover shown, driver cover similar.
Remove the front inboard retainer cover.
3. Remove the front seat rear retainer cover.
4. Remove the fifth foot trim cover.
- Remove the pin-type retainer.
- Lift at the rear of the cover to release cover retainer clip.
5. NOTE: New retaining bolts must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. The retaining stud and nut can be reused.
Remove the seat.
- For the driver seat, remove and discard the four retaining bolts, then remove the nut and the seat.
- For the passenger seat, remove and discard the five bolts and remove the seat.
Installation
1. NOTE: Make sure the bushing is press fit onto the fifth foot mounting hole.
Position the seat in the vehicle. Install the retainers. Do not tighten at this time.
2. WARNING: The seat anchor bolts and nut must be tightened in the specified order.
Tighten the retainers in the following sequence:
1 Tighten the two new front retaining bolts to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
2 Tighten the new rear retaining bolt and then the nut (driver seat) or new rear retaining bolt (passenger seat) to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
3 Tighten the new fifth foot retaining bolt to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
3. Install the fifth foot trim cover.
4. Connect the usage detection switch and power seat electrical connectors located under the seat.
5. Install the seat mounting retainer covers.
6. Check the active restraints for correct operation.
