Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE (EOP) SWITCH

Removal

1. CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. Remove the turbocharger inlet tube.







3. NOTE: If there is any oil residue, clean both connecting ports and the inside surface of the charge air cooler duct to prevent the duct from blowing off.

Loosen the clamps and remove the charge air cooler (CAC) duct.







4. Remove the 2 bolts and position the turbocharger oil tube aside.
- Discard the turbocharger oil tube gasket.







5. NOTE: It may be necessary to position the engine wire harness aside.

Disconnect the engine oil pressure (EOP) switch electrical connector.







6. Remove the EOP switch.

Installation







1. Install the EOP switch.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).







2. NOTE: It may be necessary to position the engine wire harness aside.

Connect the EOP switch electrical connector.







3. Position a new gasket, the turbocharger oil tube and install the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).







4. Position the CAC duct and tighten the clamps.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

5. Install the turbocharger inlet tube.
