Test F: The Battery Saver Does Not Deactivate After Time-Out

PINPOINT TEST F: THE BATTERY SAVER DOES NOT DEACTIVATE AFTER TIME-OUT

F1-F4:

Normal Operation
During the battery saver function, the instrument cluster provides a ground circuit for the battery saver relay through circuit 1005 (VT/OG) when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. The battery saver relay provides power to circuit 54 (LG/YE) for a predetermined time after the ignition switch has been cycled from the ON position to the OFF position. Once the predetermined time-out has elapsed, the instrument cluster will deactivate the battery saver relay and remove power from circuit 54 (LG/YE).

Possible Causes
- Circuit 54 (LG/YE) short to voltage
- Circuit 1005 (VT/OG) short to ground
- Battery saver relay
- Instrument cluster
