AUXILIARY CLIMATE CONTROL

The following information is for Escape Hybrid specific components.

High-Voltage Battery Cooling System
The high-voltage battery cooling system consists of the following components:
- Traction battery control module (TBCM)
- Air flow mode door actuator
- Battery zone valve
- Auxiliary evaporator core thermistor
- Auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet lines
- Auxiliary evaporator core
- Auxiliary climate control housing
- Thermostatic expansion valve
- Thermostatic expansion valve filter

An in-line thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) filter is installed in the auxiliary evaporator inlet line at the floorpan connection and may be installed separately from the line. A restriction in this filter may cause misdiagnosis of a failed battery zone valve or TXV. This filter must be inspected before a new battery zone valve or TXV is installed.
