Normal Operation
The passive anti-theft system (PATS) uses an anti-theft indicator. This indicator proves out for 3 seconds when the ignition switch is in the ON or START position under normal operation. If there is a PATS concern, this indicator either flashes rapidly or glows steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is in the ON or START position. The anti-theft indicator receives voltage on circuit SBP24 (VT/RD) and is grounded through the instrument cluster on circuit CRT04 (YE/BU).

Possible Causes
- circuit SBP24 (VT/RD) open or short to ground
- circuit CRT04 (YE/BU) open or short to ground
- anti-theft indicator
- instrument cluster
