EARLY WEAR OF THE INNER BRAKE PAD ON THE
REAR DISC BRAKES
FORD:
2004-2007 E-250, E-350
This article supersedes TSB 07-17-1 to clarify vehicle coverage.
ISSUE
Some 2004-2007 E-Series 250/350 vehicles may exhibit early wear of the inner brake pad on the rear disc brakes when operated in mud, slush, dirt, or other severe conditions. Full rear brake dust shield assemblies have been released for service.
ACTION
Refer to the Service Procedure to install two (2) rear brake dust shield assemblies.

NOTE
THE REAR BRAKE DUST SHIELD ASSEMBLIES ARE IDENTICAL FOR THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE. THE SERVICE PARTS ARE DIFFERENT FOR VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 11/29/2004.
NOTE
FOR E-350 SRW CUTAWAY VEHICLES ONLY PARTS ARE UNIQUE. THE PARTS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
^ Shallow shields are available for dual rear wheel (DRW) with single rear wheel (SRW) axle and outboard rotors that are protected by the single rear wheel.
^ Deep shields are available for SRW service - only for SRW axles with inboard rotors that are not protected by the single rear wheel.
