Normal Operation
The safety belt pretensioner is hardwired to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster receives the safety belt status from the safety belt pretensioner through circuit 85 (BN/LB). When the safety belt is unfastened, the safety belt pretensioner grounds through circuit 57 (BK) sending a signal to the instrument cluster to illuminate the safety belt warning indicator.
Possible Causes
- Circuit 57 (BK) open
- Circuit 85 (BN/LB) open or short to ground
- Safety belt pretensioner
- Instrument cluster
