Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
EVAPORATOR CORE HOUSINGRemoval and Installation
1. Remove the heater core housing.
2. Remove the evaporator core.
3. Detach the wire harness.
1 Remove the nut and stud.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector and position the wire harness aside.
4. Remove the bolts and the suction accumulator.
- To install, tighten to 14 Nm (10 lb-ft).
5. Remove the washer reservoir.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Remove the bolt.
3 Remove the washer reservoir.
- Disconnect the washer hose and washer pump electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector.
8. Disconnect the vacuum connector and detach the wire harness pin-type retainer.
9. Remove the screws and position the wire harness aside.
10. Position the auxiliary A/C lines aside (if equipped).
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Position the auxiliary A/C lines aside.
11. Working from inside the vehicle, remove the 3 nuts.
12. Position the evaporator core housing forward and remove the 2 fresh air inlet duct screws.
13. Remove the fresh air inlet duct.
1 Remove the screw.
2 Remove the fresh air inlet duct.
- Detach the vacuum line retainer.
14. Deflect the LH battery tray bracket (4.6L, 5.4L or 6.8L) or the LH junction box bracket (6.0L diesel) to provide clearance for evaporator core housing removal.
15. Remove the evaporator core housing.
16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
