Normal Operation
The audio unit sends a varying AC voltage to the speakers. The AC voltage is converted to sound through the magnetic coil and speaker cone. Each speaker has a signal and return circuit, and the number of speakers varies from 2-6 speakers, depending on the system configuration.
Possible Causes
- Circuit 800 (GY/LB) open or short to ground
- Circuit 801 (TN/YE) open or short to ground
- Circuit 802 (OG/RD) open or short to ground
- Circuit 803 (BN/PK) open or short to ground
- Circuit 804 (OG/LG) open or short to ground
- Circuit 805 (WH/LG) open or short to ground
- Circuit 811 (DG/OG) open or short to ground
- Circuit 813 (LB/WH) open or short to ground
- Trim panel loose or interfering with speaker
- Speaker
- Audio unit
NOTE: Prior to performing the pinpoint test, perform the speaker walk-around test to determine which speaker(s) is not operating correctly. Speaker Walk-Around Test (ULC and M100 Audio Units)
