Attachment I - Administrative Information

OASIS ACTIVATED?

Yes OASIS will be activated on November 4 2011 for vehicles known to have received a misbuilt service fuel tank. Please note there may be vehicles that have been serviced with a misbuilt service fuel tank that will not be identified in OASIS.

FSA VIN LIST ACTIVATED?

Yes FSA VIN list will be available through the website on November 4, 2011. Any known owner names and addresses will be available by November 14, 2011.

NOTE:
Your FSA VIN list may contain owner names and addresses obtained from motor vehicle registration records. The use of such motor vehicle registration data for any purpose other than in connection with this recall is a violation of law in several states provinces and countries. Accordingly you must limit the use of this listing to the follow-up necessary to complete this recall.

IN-STOCK FUEL TANKS

^ Refer to Attachment III - Technical Information for details and an illustration to identify a misbuilt service fuel tank.

^ Inspect dealer parts inventory for misbuilt service fuel tanks Part No. 8C2Z-9002-A.

^ Any misbuilt service fuel tanks that have not been installed should be returned on a parts return claim using packaging error reason code "CF".

SOLD FUEL TANKS

^ Refer to Attachment III - Technical lnformaUon, for details and an illustration to identify and replace a misbuilt service fuel tank.

^ Owners of misbuilt service fuel tanks will be directed to dealers for handling.

^ For misbuilt service fuel tanks that have been sold but have not been installed in a vehicle, dealers are to exchange the fuel tank for a new service fuel tank.

^ If you suspect a customer has purchased a misbuilt service fuel tank, contact the customer to exchange the tank for a new one.

^ Any misbuilt service fuel tanks that have not been installed should be returned on a parts return claim using packaging error reason code "CF".

^ Correct other affected vehicles identified in OASIS which are brought to your dealership.

^ If a misbuilt service fuel tank was installed in a vehicle and the VIN is not in OASIS, call the Special Service Support Center to have the vehicle added to this recall.

TITLE BRANDED / SALVAGED VEHICLES

Affected title branded and salvaged vehicles are eligible for this recall.

RELATED DAMAGE

If a related damage condition exists that you believe to be caused by the covered condition call the Special Service Support Center to request approval prior to the repair of any related damage. Requests for approval after completion of the repair will not be granted. Ford Motor Company reserves the right to deny coverage for related damage in cases where the vehicle owner has not had this recall performed on a timely basis.

ADDITIONAL LABOR TIME

^ If a condition exists that requires additional labor to complete the repair call the Special Service Support Center to request approval prior to performing any additional labor. Requests for approval after completion of the repair will not be granted.

^ If you encounter aftermarket equipment or modifications to the vehicle which might prevent the repair of the covered condition call the Special Service Support Center.

OWNER REFUNDS

Owner refunds should not be necessary under this recall. If you encounter a situation where you believe a refund should be provided please contact the Special Service Support Center.

RENTAL VEHICLES

With proper parts ordering and service appointment scheduling rental vehicles should not be required. However if you have a unique circumstance which may require a rental vehicle please contact the Special Service Support Center.

CLAIMS PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION

^ Enter claims using Direct Warranty Entry (DWE).

^ Refer to ACESII manual for claims preparation and submission information.

^ Related damage must be claimed on a repair line that is separate from the repair line on which the FSA is claimed. Related damage requires prior approval from the Special Service Support Center.

^ "MT" labor should be submitted on a separate repair line with the related damage flag checked. "MT" labor requires prior approval from the Special Service Support Center.

^ Additional parts such as a fuel pump gasket and related hardware may be submitted on the same repair line on which the FSA is claimed. Additional parts totaling more than $100.00 requires prior approval from the Special Service Support Center.
