Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module

Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module:





Removal and Installation

All vehicles
1. Disconnect the battery ground. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Remove the 3 bolts and position the degas bottle aside.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs).

Vehicles equipped with 6.0L engine and Hydro-Boost(R)
3. Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

All vehicles
4. Remove the 4 screws and position the ABS module to gain access to the electrical connector.
^ To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs).
5. Disconnect the ABS module electrical connector.
^ Release the lock tab.
^ Pull the connector from the module.

Vehicles with standard ABS
6. Lift the ABS module slightly and disconnect the ABS pump motor electrical connector.





All vehicles
7. Remove the ABS module.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ For vehicles with traction control and stability assist, calibrate the ABS module. Follow the scan tool directions. Clear the DTCs. Carry out the self test with the brakes not applied.
