Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
ENGINE OIL PRESSURE (EOP) SWITCHRemoval and Installation
1. CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. NOTE:
- If there is any oil residue, clean both connecting ports and the inside surface of the charge air cooler tube to prevent the tube from blowing off.
- Charge air cooler (CAC) side shown, turbocharger side similar.
Loosen the charge air cooler (CAC) tube clamps.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
4. Remove the bolt and position the ground wire aside. Disconnect the electrical connector pushpin.
5. Remove the bolt and position the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) assembly aside.
6. Remove the bolts and position the wiring aside.
7. Remove the bolts for the CAC tube and the oil fill tube.
8. Disconnect and remove the oil fill tube at the valve cover.
9. Remove the nuts, CAC tube, oil fill tube and bracket.
10. Remove the bolt for the turbocharger oil feed tube.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
11. Remove the 2 bolts and the turbocharger oil tube.
- Discard the turbocharger oil tube gasket.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
12. NOTE: It may be necessary to position the engine wiring harness aside.
Disconnect the engine oil pressure (EOP) switch electrical connector.
13. Remove the EOP switch.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new gasket and O-ring seal on the turbocharger oil feed tube.
