Attachment III - Technical Information

OVERVIEW

As part of a class action settlement, affected vehicles will be granted a pro-rated warranty extension for 6.0L Diesel Engine concerns that require engine assembly replacements.

Pro-Rated Costs

^ This program covers 50% of engine assembly replacement costs when the mileage is between 120,001 and 135,000 miles. The owner is responsible for the remaining 50%.

^ This program covers 25% of engine assembly replacement costs when mileage is between 135,001 and 150,000 miles. The owner is responsible for the remaining 75%.

Qualifying Repairs and Procedures

Follow Workshop Manual diagnosis and engine replacement procedures. Claims must be prepared following warranty and policy guidelines (use warranty labor operations). Repairs that qualify for this pro-rated warranty extension are engine assembly replacements with:

^ 6006 - Long block assembly

^ 6007 - Complete engine assembly

Prior Approval

Follow current published prior approval guidelines for 6.0L Diesel Engine replacements (6006/6007).

Run OASIS including a symptom code. Click on "Prior Approval" at the bottom of the OASIS screen.

Then select Diesel Engine. Complete and submit the web form.
