Normal Operation
The instrument cluster receives the overdrive (O/D) off signal from the transmission control module (TCM) over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. The O/D off switch is hardwired to the TCM. When the transmission O/D is selected off, the O/D off switch provides a ground signal to the TCM. The TCM upon receipt of the O/D off ground signal, provides an O/D off message to the instrument cluster and the instrument cluster illuminates the O/D off indicator. If the O/D off message is missing or invalid for greater than 5 seconds, the instrument cluster sets DTC U0101 and defaults the O/D off indicator off.
