PINPOINT TEST Q: THE FOG LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE

Q1-Q4:

Q5:

Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) sends a reference signal to the headlamp switch through circuit CLF29 (BN) to monitor the fog lamp request. When the fog lamp switch is engaged, the voltage signal is routed to ground.

When the SJB detects the fog lamps on request, the SJB provides ground to the fog lamp relay coil (integral to the SJB). When the fog lamp relay is energized, voltage is routed through circuit CLF21 (GY/VT) to the fog lamps.

Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit CLF21 (GY/VT) open
- Circuit CLF29 (BN) open
- Headlamp switch
- SJB
