Normal Operation
When the exterior mirror select switch is set to the center power folding mirror position and pressed rearward, the switch will ground the driver seat module (DSM) through circuit CPM22 (GY/BN). When the exterior mirrors are extended, and the driver seat module (DSM) receives ground on circuit CPM22 (GY/BN), the DSM will ground circuit (LH) CPM39 (GN/VT)/(RH) CPM40 (WH/OG) and send 12 volts to power folding mirror motors through circuit (LH) CPM04 (VT/BN)/(RH) CPM07 (BN), the mirrors will retract. When the exterior mirrors are retracted, and the DSM receives ground on circuit CPM22 (GY/BN), the DSM will ground circuit (LH) CPM39 (GN/VT)/(RH) CPM40 (WH/OG) and send 12 volts to both power folding mirrors through circuit (LH) CPM04 (VT/BN)/(RH) CPM07 (BN), the mirrors will extend.

Possible Causes
- An open in circuits CPM04 (VT/BN), CPM07 (BN), CPM22 (GY/BN), CPM39 (GN/VT) or CPM40 (WH/OG)
- A short to ground in circuits CPM04 (VT/BN), CPM07 (BN), CPM22 (GY/BN), CPM39 (GN/VT) or CPM40 (WH/OG)
- A short to voltage in circuits CPM04 (VT/BN), CPM07 (BN), CPM39 (GN/VT) or CPM40 (WH/OG)
- A short together in circuits CPM04 (VT/BN), CPM07 (BN), CPM39 (GN/VT) or CPM40 (WH/OG)
- Exterior mirror control switch
- Exterior mirror
- Driver seat module (DSM)

If the power folding mirrors are folded or unfolded continuously (6 to 10 cycles), the power lockout feature will disable the system for 2 minutes to prevent damage to the power fold motors. After 2 minutes have elapsed, normal operation will resume.
