Test C: One High Beam Headlamp Is Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST C: ONE HIGH BEAM HEADLAMP IS INOPERATIVEC1-C2:
C2 Continued:
Normal Operation - Expedition
When the smart junction box (SJB) detects the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position and the multifunction switch in the HIGH BEAM position, the SJB energizes an internal relay. When the relay is energized, the relay routes voltage through circuit CLF08 (YE/VT) to the high beams. Ground for the high beams is shared with the low beams.
Normal Operation - Navigator
When the SJB detects the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position and the multifunction switch in the HIGH BEAM position, the SJB energizes an internal relay. When the relay is energized, the relay routes voltage through circuit CLF08 (YE/VT) to the headlamps and the flash-to-pass lamps. If the low beams are on, a shutter within each headlamp activates to give the appearance of high beam headlamps. Ground for the LH and RH flash-to-pass lamps is provided through circuits GD120 (BK/GN) and GD123 (BK/GY), respectively.
Possible Causes
- Circuit CLF08 (YE/VT) open
- Circuit GD120 (BK/GN) open
- Circuit GD123 (BK/GY) open
- Headlamp assembly
