Axle Assembly - Air Suspension

Special Tool(s):





Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Deflate the rear air springs.
3. Remove the rear driveshaft assembly.
4. Remove the axle halfshafts.
5. Remove the lower rear sway bar links.
^ To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).





6. Remove the 4 bracket bolts and remove the rear sway bar.
^ To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).





7. Using a suitable jack, support the axle housing.





8. NOTE: Spare wheel removed for clarity.

Remove the upper axle housing stud nuts.

^ To install, tighten to 135 Nm (100 lb-ft).





9. Remove the front torque arm bolt.
^ To install, tighten to 135 Nm (100 lb-ft).





10. NOTE: Move the axle housing forward to clear the rear mounting studs from the bushings.

Lower the axle housing from the vehicle.





11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
