Normal Operation
The door lock control switches supply a ground signal to the vehicle security module (VSM). When the VSM receives ground through circuit 119 (PK/YE), the VSM grounds circuits 163 (RD/OG) and 118 (PK/OG), while energizing circuit 117 (PK/BK) to lock the doors. When the VSM reads ground at circuit 120 (PK/LG), the VSM grounds circuit 117 (PK/BK), while energizing circuits 163 (RD/OG) and 118 (PK/OG), to unlock the doors. The driver and passenger door lock control switch circuits are spliced together within the wiring harness.
Possible Causes
- Circuit 7 (LG/YE) open
- Circuit 117 (PK/BK) open or short to ground
- Circuit 118 (PK/OG) short to ground
- Circuit 163 (RD/OG) short to ground
- Door lock actuator
- VSM
