Normal Operation
The instrument cluster communicates with the scan tool through the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) and communicates with other modules on the UBP communication network. Circuits 1827 (WH/LG) (HS-CAN +) and 1828 (PK/LG) (HS-CAN -) provide the HS-CAN network connection to the instrument cluster and circuit 1906 (VT) provides the UBP network connection to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster shares the HS-CAN network with the powertrain control module (PCM) and the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. In addition, the instrument cluster shares the UBP network with the vehicle security module (VSM) (if equipped), the electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) module (if equipped) and the driver seat module (DSM) (if equipped). Voltage for the instrument cluster is provided by circuits 640 (RD/YE), 489 (PK/BK), 1003 (GY/YE) and 3049 (BK/LG). Circuits 57 (BK) and 875 (BK/LB) provide ground.
