Fuel System - General Information

FUEL SYSTEM

The vehicle:
- is equipped with a multiport fuel injection (MFI) system.
- has separately controlled fuel injectors mounted to the intake manifold for each cylinder.
- has a fuel rail which is supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel delivery module which is enabled by the fuel pump driver module through the powertrain control module (PCM).
- has fuel injectors which are supplied with pressurized fuel from the fuel delivery rail.
- fuel rail is equipped with a fuel pressure sensor.
- uses an electronic returnless fuel system.
- fuel pressure sensor controls the pressure going to the fuel injectors.
- has an inertia fuel shutoff (IFS) switch, located behind the passenger side right foot kick panel, which shuts off the fuel in the event of a collision.
