Test C: DTC P1703 or DTC P1572 - Brake On/Off Circuit Failure
Pinpoint Test C: DTC P1703 Or DTC P1572 - Brake On/Off Circuit Failure
Normal Operation
The stoplamp switch sends a voltage signal through circuit 810 (RD/LG) to the PCM when the brake pedal is applied, and deactivates the speed control if engaged. The speed control deactivator switch sends a voltage signal through circuit 307 (BK/YE) to the PCM when the brake pedal is not applied. When the brake pedal is applied, the voltage signal is removed and the speed control is deactivated.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit 22 (LB/BK) open
- Circuit 307 (BK/YE) open or shorted to voltage
- Circuit 418 (DG/YE) open or shorted to voltage
- Circuit 810 (RD/LG) open or shorted to voltage
- Stoplamp switch
- Brake shift interlock actuator
- 4WD control module
- Speed control deactivator switch
- PCM
