Test V: The Reversing Lamps Are On Continuously

PINPOINT TEST V: THE REVERSING LAMPS ARE ON CONTINUOUSLY

V1-V3:

V4-V7:

Normal Operation - Automatic Transmission
Voltage is suppled to the reversing lamp relay coil directly from the powertrain control module (PCM) power relay. The reversing lamp relay coil ground is controlled by the PCM through circuit 324 (YE/LG). The reversing lamp relay is supplied voltage from the central junction box (CJB) fuse 8 (15A). When the reversing lamp relay is energized, voltage is routed to the reversing lamps through circuit 140 (BK/PK).

Normal Operation - Manual Transmission
Voltage is suppled to the reversing lamp relay coil directly from the PCM power relay. The reversing lamp relay coil ground is controlled by the reversing lamp switch through circuit 324 (YE/LG). The reversing lamp relay is supplied voltage from the CJB fuse 8 (15A). When the reversing lamp relay is energized, voltage is routed to the reversing lamps through circuit 140 (BK/PK).

Possible Causes
- Circuit 140 (BK/PK) short to voltage
- Circuit 324 (YE/LG) short to ground
- Circuit 963 (BK/LG) short to ground
- Reversing lamp relay
- Reversing lamp switch (manual transmission)
- CJB
- PCM (automatic transmission)
