- the ignition switch ON position.
- the driver safety belt switch.
The output is the instrument cluster chime.
Safety Belt Minder
The safety belt minder feature is configurable.Refer to Information Bus (Module Communications Network). To configure without a scan tool, refer to Safety Belt Minder Deactivating/Activating. Service and Repair
The safety belt minder feature supplements the current safety belt warning function. The safety belt minder feature is enabled after the current safety belt warning is complete. The safety belt minder reminds the driver that his/her safety belt is unbuckled by intermittently sounding a chime and illuminating the safety belt warning indicator in the instrument cluster once the vehicle speed has exceeded 4 km/h (3 mph). While activated, the safety belt minder alternates the chime and indicator from on for 6 seconds to off for 30 seconds.

When these conditions exist, the restraints control module (RCM) sends a chime request to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster then activates the warning chime. The warning consists of 5 sets of 5 one second tone bursts. Each set is separated by 5 seconds of silence. The warning is repeated every 30 minutes.
Parking Brake Engaged Chime

The key-in-ignition warning chime inputs are the:
- Ignition switch ON position.
- Ignition switch ACC position.
- Key-in-ignition switch.
- LH door ajar switch.
