Test G: The Battery Saver Does Not Deactivate After Time-out
PINPOINT TEST G: THE BATTERY SAVER DOES NOT DEACTIVATE AFTER TIMEOUTG1-G2:
Normal Operation
During the battery saver function, the instrument cluster provides a ground circuit for the battery saver relay when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. The battery saver relay provides voltage to circuit 54 (LG/YE) for a predetermined time after the ignition switch has been cycled from the ON position to the OFF position. Once the predetermined timeout has elapsed, the instrument cluster deactivates the battery saver relay and removes power from circuit 54 (LG/YE).
Possible Causes
- Circuit 54 (LG/YE) short to voltage
- Instrument cluster
