Removal and Installation

1. NOTE: Refer to Computers and Control Systems for correct vehicle communication module (VCM) hook-up procedure.

If servicing the powertrain control module (PCM), connect the scan tool to the vehicle. Allow the scan tool to identify the vehicle and obtain configuration data.
- All programmable module information will automatically be retrieved by the VCM.

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect the powertrain control module (PCM) electrical connectors.
4. Remove the 2 bolts and the PCM.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
