2.3L - MIL ON - DTC P0111 AFTER USING BLOCK HEATER

ISSUE
Some 2007-2008 Ranger vehicles equipped with 2.3L engines may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) On with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0111 (Intake Air Temperature Sensor) during cold weather ambient temperatures after using a block heater.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 64.09 or higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2009.11 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
2. Clear all DTCs after programming.
3. For DTCs generated after reprogramming, follow normal diagnostic service procedures.
