ISSUE
Some 2007-2008 Econoline vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0606, P0607 PCM error or P0731 shift solenoid 1st gear ratio error. Typically occurs during a cold start event where vehicle throttle pedal has been partially depressed and accompanied by an immediate selector lever moved to the drive position. The driver may report that the O/D light flashing on the shift lever.

ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 68.1 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2010.7 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
