Seat Recliner - Rear, Bucket

SEAT RECLINER - REAR, BUCKET

Removal and Installation

WARNING: Use care when the seat back frame is removed and when releasing the recliners from a backrest upright position. The recliners are spring-loaded, which may cause the recliner upper arms to fold with significant speed/force. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

RH seat

1. NOTE: The anti-rotation tab must be correctly aligned for correct installation.

Remove the bolt and detachable safety belt buckle.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

All seats
2. Remove the RH armrest.
- Release the hook-and-loop at the rear of the armrest trim cover and partially invert to access the armrest bolt.
- Remove the armrest bolt and armrest.
- To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

- Remove the shim.
- To install, position the shim to the armrest stop post.

3. Remove the 3 screws and LH cushion side shield.
4. Remove the 2 recliner-to-backrest bolts.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

5. Remove the 2 recliner-to-cushion bolts.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

6. CAUTION: Be careful not allow the seat backrest to twist or bend at the backrest pivot while the recliner is removed from the backrest frame or the seat may be damaged.

Rest the backrest forward on the cushion and slide the recliner from the backrest and remove.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
