Test K: DTCs 131104, C1277 and C1278 - Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Fault and DTC C1963 - Stability Control Inhibit Warning
Pinpoint Test K: DTCs B1104, C1277 and C1278 Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Fault and DTC C1963 - Stability Control inhibit WarningRefer to Vehicle/Diagrams, Vehicle Dynamic Systems for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation
The steering wheel rotation sensor monitors the steering wheel position when the toothed-wheel on the steering shaft passes through the optical field of the sensor.
The steering wheel rotation sensor receives fused ignition voltage from central junction box (CJB) fuse 2 (10A) along circuit 640 (RD/YE), ground for the sensor is provided by the ABS module along circuit 1571 (BK). Steering wheel rotation (in degrees) is sent from the sensor to the ABS module along circuit 1572 (DG) and circuit 1573 (YE).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
^ Wiring, terminals or connectors
^ Steering wheel rotation sensor
^ ABS module
