Test C: Poor Quality/Distorted Sound From One Or More Speakers (Not All Speakers)

PINPOINT TEST C: POOR QUALITY/DISTORTED SOUND FROM ONE OR MORE SPEAKERS (NOT ALL SPEAKERS)

Normal Operation
The audio unit sends a varying AC voltage to the speakers. The AC voltage is converted to sound through the magnetic coil and speaker cone. Each speaker has a signal and return circuit, and the number of speakers varies from 2-6 speakers, depending on the system configuration.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Trim panel loose or interfering with speaker
- Speaker
- Audio unit

NOTE: Prior to performing the pinpoint test, perform the speaker walk-around test to determine which speaker(s) is not operating correctly. Component Tests and General Diagnostics
