Test Q: The Reversing Lamps Are On Continuously
PINPOINT TEST Q: THE REVERSING LAMPS ARE ON CONTINUOUSLYNormal Operation - Vehicles Equipped With 4R75E Transmission
When the transmission is placed in REVERSE (R), the digital transmission range (TR) sensor routes voltage to the parking aid module (PAM) and the reversing lamps through circuit 140 (BK/PK).
Normal Operation - Vehicles Equipped With TorqShift Transmission
The reversing lamp relay coil ground is supplied and controlled by the PCM through circuit 1362 (DG/OG). When the transmission is placed in REVERSE (R), the PCM provides a ground for the reversing lamp relay coil, energizing the relay. When the reversing lamp relay is energized, the reversing lamp relay routes voltage to the PAM and the reversing lamps through circuit 140 (BK/PK).
- DTC P1910 (Reverse Lamp Control Circuit/Open) - sets when the PCM detects a short to ground from the reversing lamps relay coil ground control circuit.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Digital TR sensor (if equipped with 4R75E transmission)
- Reversing lamp relay (if equipped with TorqShift transmission)
- PAM
- PCM (if equipped with TorqShift transmission)
