Test B: The Courtesy Lamps Stay On Continuously

PINPOINT TEST B: THE COURTESY LAMPS STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY

Normal Operation - Except Stripped Chassis
The instrument cluster (IC) monitors the door ajar switch status on circuits 159 (RD/PK), 1034 (BK/WH) and 628 (WH) for a ground supplied through the ajar switches by circuit 57 (BK), indicating an open door. The IC then energizes both the battery saver relay and interior lamp relay. When the relays are energized, voltage is supplied to circuit 53 (BK/LB) for the interior lamps.

Stripped Chassis
Circuit 54 (LG/YE) supplies voltage to the headlamp switch. When the interior lamps are turned on, the headlamp switch routes voltage through circuit 53 (BK/LB) to the interior lamps.

- DTC B1319 (Driver Door Ajar Circuit Failure) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the IC detects a short to ground on the driver door ajar circuit.
- DTC B1327 (Passenger Door Ajar Circuit Failure) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the IC detects a short to ground on the passenger door ajar circuit.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Interior lamp relay
- Door ajar switch
- Headlamp switch
- IC
- Vehicle security module (VSM)
