IDLE SPEED DROPS BELOW SPECIFICATION - DTC
P0054 - 5-6/6-5 SHIFT SCHEDULING

FORD:
2008 E-350, E-450

ISSUE
Some 2008 E-350 and E-450 vehicles equipped with a 5.4L engine may exhibit idle speed dropping below specification. Additionally, some E-450 vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0054 (HO2S Heater Resistance) without related hardware issues, or a perceived lack of power at highway speeds due to delayed 6-5 transmission downshift on applications with vehicle special order (VSO) 65 MPH speed limiter calibrations.

ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 59.5 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2009.1 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
