Instrument Panel

Removal

1. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to Console - Floor Service and Repair.

2. Remove the engine cover.
- Release the engine cover latches and remove the engine cover.





3. Remove the 4 instrument panel cowl top screws.





4. Remove the LH upper access panel.





5. Remove the instrument panel cowl top nut.





6. Remove the LH and RH front door opening weatherstrips.

7. Remove the LH and RH A-pillar trim panels.

8. Remove the 2 Data Link Connector (DLC) screws and position aside.





9. Remove the steering column opening cover.





10. Remove the steering wheel.

11. Remove the steering column pinch bolt.
- Separate the steering column coupling from the steering column.





12. Disconnect the transmission selector lever cable.





13. Disconnect the transmission selector cable from steering column bracket.





14. Disconnect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.





15. NOTE: Location of the wiring electrical connectors are behind the instrument panel brace.

Disconnect the 2 wiring electrical connectors.





16. NOTE: Vacuum line may be obstructed by wiring electrical connectors and the instrument panel brace.

Disconnect single vacuum line.





17. Disconnect the 2 wiring electrical connectors from the Smart Junction Box (SJB).





18. Remove the glove compartment. For additional information, refer to Glove Compartment Service and Repair.

19. Disconnect the climate control vacuum harness connector.





20. Remove the RH A-pillar lower trim panel.





21. Disconnect the RH instrument panel cowl side wiring electrical connectors and antenna cable.





22. If equipped, disconnect the satellite radio connector.





23. Remove the RH front door ajar switch.
- Pull the door ajar switch outward to release locking tabs.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.





24. Remove the 3 RH instrument panel bolts.





25. Remove the 3 LH instrument panel bolts.





26. NOTICE: To avoid damaging the instrument panel, an assistant is required when carrying out this step.

NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not caught up in any components when removing the instrument panel.

Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle through the driver side door.

Installation

NOTICE: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.

NOTICE: To avoid damage to the instrument panel, it must be correctly seated before installing the instrument panel bolts.

NOTE: Verify that the locator tab on the LH side of the instrument panel is seated correctly.

1. Position the instrument panel on the LH dash locators and seat the panel.

NOTE: Install the LH and RH instrument panel bolts and make sure that the panel is correctly seated before tightening.

2. Install the 3 LH instrument panel bolts.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).





3. Install the 3 RH instrument panel bolts.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).





4. Connect the electrical connector and install the RH door ajar switch.





5. If equipped, connect the satellite radio connector.





6. Connect the RH instrument panel cowl side wiring electrical connectors and antenna cable.





7. Install the RH A-pillar lower trim panel.





8. Connect the climate control vacuum harness connector.





9. Install the glove compartment. For additional information, refer to Glove Compartment Service and Repair.

10. Connect the 2 wiring electrical connectors from the SJB.





11. NOTE: Vacuum line may be obstructed by wiring electrical connectors and the instrument panel brace.

Connect single vacuum line.





12. NOTE: Location of the wiring electrical connectors are behind the instrument panel brace.

Connect the 2 wiring electrical connectors.





13. Connect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.





14. Connect the transmission selector cable to steering column bracket.





15. Connect the transmission selector lever cable.





16. Connect the steering column coupling to the steering column and install the pinch bolt.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).





17. Install the steering wheel.

18. Install the steering column opening cover.





19. Position DLC and install the 2 screws.





20. Install the LH and RH A-pillar trim panels.

21. Install the LH and RH front door opening weatherstrips.

22. Install the instrument panel cowl top nut.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).





23. Install the LH upper access panel.





24. Install the instrument panel cowl top screws.





25. Install the engine cover.
- Position the engine cover in the vehicle and fasten the cover latches.





26. Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to Console - Floor Service and Repair.
