Pinpoint Test C: A Single Power Window is Inoperative - RH

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

When the ignition key is placed in the RUN or ACCESSORY positions, the accessory delay relay provides voltage to the LH and RH window control switch through circuit CBP47 (GN/BU). Ground is provided to the LH window control switch through circuit GD133 (BK). When the RH window control switch is pressed, voltage is provided to the RH window motor through circuit CPW19 (VT) and ground through CPW20 (WH/OG) to operate the RH window downward. When the RH window control switch is pulled, voltage is provided to the RH window motor through circuit CPW20 (WH/OG) and ground through CPW19 (VT) to operate the RH window upward.

RH Window Operation From LH Control Switch

When operating the RH window from the LH window control switch, voltage is sent to the RH window control switch through circuit CPW12 (GN/OG) and ground through CPW13 (BN/YE) to operate the RH window downward. To move the RH window upward, the LH window control switch provides voltage through circuit CPW13 (BN/YE) and ground through CPW12 (GN/OG).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- LH window control switch
- RH window control switch
- RH window motor

PINPOINT TEST C: A SINGLE POWER WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - RH

-------------------------------------------------
C1 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP47 (GN/BU) FOR VOLTAGE

- Disconnect: RH Window Control Switch C604.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between RH window control switch C604-3, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to C2.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
C2 CHECK CIRCUITS CPW12 (GN/OG) AND CPW13 (BN/YE) FOR CONTINUITY TO GROUND

- Ignition OFF.
- Measure the resistance between RH window control switch C604-1, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side and ground; and between RH window control switch C604-6, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements?

Yes
GO to C4.

No
GO to C3.

-------------------------------------------------
C3 CHECK CIRCUITS CPW12 (GN/OG) AND CPW13 (BN/YE) FOR AN OPEN

- Disconnect: LH Window Control Switch C504.
- Measure the resistance between LH window control switch C504, harness side and RH window control switch, harness side using the following chart:

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements?

Yes
INSTALL a new LH window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
C4 CHECK THE RH WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

- Ignition ON.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between RH window control switchC604-3, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and C604-2, circuit CPW19 (VT), harness side; and a second fused jumper wire between RH window control switch C604-5, circuit CPW20 (WH/OG), harness side and C604-6, circuit CPW13 (BN/YE), harness side. The RH window should operate in the downward direction.

- Connect a fused jumper wire between RH window control switchC604-3, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and C604-5, circuit CPW20 (WH/OG), harness side; and a second fused jumper wire between RH window control switch C604-2, circuit CPW19 (VT), harness side and C604-1, circuit CPW12 (GN/OG), harness side. The RH window should operate in the upward direction.

- Did the window open and close?

Yes
If the RH window did not operate with the RH window controls, INSTALL a new RH window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.
If the RH power window did operate with the RH window control switch but not with the LH window control switch, INSTALL a new LH window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to C5.

-------------------------------------------------
C5 CHECK CIRCUITS CPW19 (VT) AND CPW20 (WH/OG) FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: RH Window Regulator Motor C608.
- Measure the resistance between RH window control switch C604, harness side and RH window motor C608, harness side using the following chart:

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements?

Yes
INSTALL a new RH window regulator motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door Window Regulator Motor - Front Door. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
