Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset
Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset
NOTE: If the vehicle is not equipped with Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) or is equipped with PATS, and the Instrument Cluster (IC) or the PCM is being replaced (or both), the parameters must be reset in both modules or the vehicle experiences a PATS no-start. PATS vehicles and non-PATS vehicles have parameters in the IC and the PCM and they must be reset whenever either (or both) module(s) is (are) replaced.
NOTE: When using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS), the IC and the PCM parameters are reset at the same time.
NOTE: Once security access has been granted, multiple security access commands should be executed (if necessary) prior to exiting the command menu. This avoids an additional security access procedure and the associated 10 minute time delay.
NOTE: A minimum of 2 PATS keys must be programmed into the IC before the vehicle starts.
1. NOTE: For PATS vehicles, if the IC was replaced, follow Steps 1-10. If the IC and the PCM were replaced, follow Steps 1-10. If only the PCM was replaced, follow Steps 1-3.
NOTE: For non-PATS vehicles, if the IC and/or the PCM were replaced, follow Steps 1-3.
