Electrical - No Start/Erratic Instrument Function

NO START WITH/WITHOUT ERRATIC INSTRUMENT
CLUSTER FUNCTION

FORD:
2009-2011 E-150, E-250, E-350, E-450

ISSUE
Some 2009-2011 E-Series vehicles may exhibit a no start with or without erratic instrument cluster function such as all warning lights illuminated.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the driver's door scuff plate.

2. Unwrap body electrical harness 14405 and check for corrosion in splice connections S301 and/or S302. Refer to Wiring Diagram (WD), page 151-23 for location.

a. If no corrosion is present, discontinue with this article. Refer to the symptom chart in the Workshop Manual, Section 418-00 for normal diagnostics.

b. If corrosion is present, clean, repair and protect the wire harness splice connection(s). Refer to WD, Section 5.
