5.4L AND 4.6L WITH 4R75 TRANSMISSION WITHOUT
ROLL STABILITY CONTROL (RSC) DTC P1703
DURING KOER
FORD:
2009 E-Series
ISSUE
Some 2009 E-Series vehicles equipped with either a 5.4L or 4.6L engine and a 4R75 transmission but not equipped with roll stability control (RSC) may exhibit diagnostic trouble code DTC P1703 during key on engine running (KOER) test. The existing calibration is looking for RSC identifiers on a non-RSC vehicle. Code is only discovered when running KOER test.
ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 58.3 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2008.11 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
