Inspection and Verification

1. Verify the customer concern.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

3. NOTE: Before evaluating any concern with the internet connection, make sure the location where the vehicle is being diagnosed is within the CDMA network coverage. Refer to the Ford Work Solutions(TM) consumer website for coverage maps.

If the fault is visually evident, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.

4. If the cause is not visually evident:
- For an in-dash computer concern or Tool Link(TM) concern, GO to Symptom Chart. Ford Work Solutions(TM)

- For a Crew Chief concern (vehicles with diagnostic LEDs), verify the status of each LED. Proceed to the Telematics Module Green Diagnostic LED Chart or Telematics Module Red Diagnostic LED Chart. Telematics Module Green Diagnostic LED Chart Telematics Module Red Diagnostic LED Chart
- For a Crew Chief concern (vehicles without diagnostic LEDs), GO to Symptom Chart. Ford Work Solutions(TM)
