Glass Reseal - Windshield





1. Remove the windshield wiper pivot arms. For additional information, refer to Wiper and Washer Systems.

2. Remove the cowl top vent panels.

3. Remove the A-pillar trim panels.

4. If equipped, remove the overhead console.

5. If equipped, remove the dome lamp assembly.

6. Remove the sun visors and clips.

7. Remove the interior rear view mirror. For additional information, refer to Mirrors.

8. Clean the edge formed by the existing urethane adhesive and the glass on the inside at the top and sides, and outside on the bottom of the windshield with glass cleaner.

9. Cut the urethane adhesive applicator tip to specification.





10. NOTE: Use either a high-ratio electric or battery-operated caulk gun that will apply the urethane adhesive with less effort and a continuous bead.

NOTE: Make sure that all gaps in the urethane adhesive are smoothed into one continuous bead.

Apply a bead of urethane adhesive over the top of the existing urethane adhesive.

- Apply the urethane adhesive to the top and sides of the windshield from the interior of the vehicle.

- Apply the urethane adhesive to the bottom of the windshield from the exterior of the vehicle.

11. NOTE: The urethane adhesive must cure for a minimum of one hour before testing for air or water leaks.

After the urethane adhesive has cured, check the windshield seal for air or water leaks through the urethane adhesive bead and add urethane adhesive as necessary.

12. Install the interior rear view mirror. For additional information, refer to Mirrors.

13. Install the sun visors and clips.

14. If equipped, install the dome lamp assembly.

15. If equipped, install the overhead console.

16. Install the A-pillar trim panels.

17. Install the cowl top vent panels.

18. Install the windshield wiper pivot arms. For additional information, refer to Wiper and Washer Systems.

19. Clean the exterior and interior of the windshield glass with glass cleaner.
