Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
Fuel Injection Control Pressure (ICP) Sensor
Removal
Vehicles with dual generators
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
All vehicles
2. Remove the 6 pushpin retainers and the upper air deflector.
3. Remove the 4 power steering reservoir bracket bolts. Position out the power steering reservoir assembly.
4. Remove the 2 bolts and position the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and the ground wire aside.
5. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the pushpin retainer. Position the cowl wiring harness aside.
6. Loosen the clamp for the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) tube.
7. Remove the 3 bolts for the CAC tube and oil fill tube.
Vehicle with dual generators
8. Disconnect the pushpin retainer from the bracket.
All vehicles
9. Remove the 2 retaining nuts and the bracket.
10. Remove the engine cover.
11. Disconnect the oil fill tube at the valve cover.
12. Loosen the clamp for the CAC tube.
13. Remove the oil fill tube and the CAC tube.
14. NOTE: The fuel Injection Control Pressure (ICP) sensor is located in the RH valve cover.
Disconnect the ICP sensor electrical connector.
15. NOTE: Use an open-end wrench to aid on removing the ICP sensor.
Remove the ICP sensor.
Installation
All vehicles
1. NOTE: Use a crowfoot wrench to aid on installing the ICP sensor.
Install the ICP sensor.
- Verify the sensor O-ring seal is in place.
- Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque.
- Using a torque adapter, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
2. Connect the ICP sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the CAC tube and the oil fill tube.
4. Tighten the clamp for the CAC tube.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
5. Connect the oil fill tube at the valve cover.
6. Install the engine cover.
7. Install the bracket and the 2 retaining nuts.
Vehicle with dual generators
8. Connect the pushpin retainer to the bracket.
All vehicles
9. Install the 3 bolts for the CAC tube and oil fill tube.
10. Tighten the clamp for the CAC tube.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
11. Install the 3 bolts and disconnect the pushpin retainer.
12. Position the MAP sensor and the ground wire and install the 2 bolts.
- Tighten the MAP sensor bolt to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Tighten the ground wire bolt to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
13. Install the 4 power steering reservoir bracket bolts.
14. Install the upper air deflector and the 6 pushpin retainers.

15. Connect the negative battery cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
